На основе комплексного изучения современной экологии и палеоэкологии высокогорных озер Европы дана оценка последствий загрязнения высоких слоев атмосферы, показаны уровни выпадения различных поллютантов в последнем столетии, их экологические последствия, обоснованы критерии ранней диагностики нарушений в уязвимых водных экосистемах вследствие их закисления и токсичного загрязнения.

On the basis of complex investigation of contemporary environment and paleoecology of European mountain lakes there was given the assessment of pollution consequences in the high atmospheric strata, shown the levels of pollutants fallout during the last century and its ecological consequences, based criteria of early diagnostics of damages in vulnerable aquatic ecosystems as a result of their acidification and toxic pollution.

Для Кольского Севера доказано, что начало трансформации экосистем озер относится к началу столетия и обусловлено трансграничными переносами загрязняющих веществ из Европы в Арктику, активные преобразования связаны с развитием индустрии на Кольском Севере.

For the Kola North there was proved that the beginning of transformation of lakes' ecosystems dates from the century beginning and is caused by trans-border transfers of pollutants from Europe to the Arctic, active changes are connected with industrial development in the Kola North.
